About the Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests In Print Database

The Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY) is a comprehensive guide to thousands of contemporary testing instruments. It is produced by the Buros Center for Testing at the University of Nebraska. All MMY entries contain descriptive information including: test purpose, publisher, pricing, and edited reviews. To be included in the MMY, a test must be commercially available, published in English, and either new or revised since it last appeared in the MMY series.

Tests in Print (TIP) is also produced by the Buros Center for Testing. It is a comprehensive bibliography to all known commercially available tests that are currently in print in the English language. TIP entries provide information on test purpose, test publisher, in-print status, price, test acronym, intended test population, administration times, publication date(s), and test author(s).

For tests covered in both MMY and TIP, the database provides a single combined item record.

More Steps and Tips for Searching:

  • Be sure to vary your terms when searching, as many tests are known by multiple names, or their acronyms, and MMY isn't able to cross check for variations.
  • To make your search more exact, try the advanced search option and search for the test title only within the citation field.
  • If you do not find the test you are looking for, you might want to rerun your search via the Buros website. If you find the test via this route, look at the bottom of the record for the test and it will tell you which printed volume of MMY the review appeared in; you can then find it in the MMY Database
