Textbook: Chapter 1
1. Select a real company/organization. Pick a company that is well known and public. Use industry resources (Library catalog and databases, associations & agencies) to supplement company websites.
2. Provide some general information about the company (background and overview)
3. Describe key position that supports the company's strategic objectives
4. Set the stage for content to be included in next sections
To learn more about companies, look for company reports. These may be located in article databases such as Business Source Premier and Mergent Horizon. Below you will see a links and suggested search terms.
The library provides access to articles: news, magazines, professional journals, and academic or peer-reviewed journals. Searching the article databases, such as Business Source Premier, help you locate articles that might mention your company and key ideas. Again, see some of the suggested search terms below. If you do not find the type of articles you want on your specific company, try searching by industry instead (i.e. Use Food Industry instead of Jamba Juice).
Content: Database for company and industry research containing detailed information about many publicly traded companies, including inactive companies.
Purpose: This is a key database for business, accounting, and economics students.
