Collection Development Policy

The Library's Collection Development Policy provides the university community with access to information and knowledge materials that are used in the pursuit of scholarship and research. The Library supports:

  • American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights
  • Freedom to Read Statement
  • Code of Ethics of the American Library Association
  • Core Values of Librarianship
  • Resolution in Support of Academic Freedom

 A couple of FAQs:

  • Library does not purchase textbooks
  • Library does not purchase classroom/teaching resources that are part of a textbook adoption
  • Library does support online access:
    • E-books
    • Fulltext Article Databases
    • Streaming Video (where vendor hosting is available)

We value faculty suggestions for new resources.
